September 6, 2010 – President Obama speaking at the Milwaukee LaborFest stated that cornerstone of the middle class all bear the union label. The 40-hr work week, medicare, and minimum wage was brought about by the unions.

Having a job is more than just a paycheck. It is about waking up every day with a sense of purpose.

Cubs manager Lou Piniella said Tuesday that he had wanted to keep his plans to retire at season’s end a secret, but it leaked out after his agent spoke to a New York Daily News reporter.

“It caused me some headaches,” Piniella said of being forced to have the team announce his intentions once the news got out. “I wanted to talk to my team first.”
